Round Table, Thursday, September 7th

Come and join us tonight for our monthly Round Table where we meet to share ideas and the latest information on council and district activities and events; 7:30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on 2801 Eldorado Pkwy, McKinney. The Cub Scout side will be preparing for your next months activities. There is also the Boy Scout side with Varsity and Venturing.  As always our Order of the Arrow Chapter meeting is at the same time, so send your chapter members along to that as well.

Before Round Table, at 6:45 pm, there will be a a Camp WOW / CUBe Planning Session.  If your unit plans to attend either event, please make sure to have a representative from your unit attend the session.

BALOO and OWL Trainings, Saturday, Sept. 23rd 8 am

Have you taken BALOO or OWL training yet?  Well you should if you camp as a pack (BALOO) or as a Webelos Den (OWL).  Have we got some courses for you.  

        8 am – 1 pm September 23rd at the LDS Pavilion, 1020 N Lake Forest Dr (by Boyd HS),  $10 early or $15 late
        Basic Cub Scout Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation – Needed by at least one or two persons from a pack for pack camping.  Sign up for BALOO here.

        8 am – 6 pm September 23rd at the LDS Pavilion, 1020 N Lake Forest Dr (by Boyd HS),  $20 early or $25 late
        Outdoor Webelos Leader – Needed by the den leaders for a Webelos den to camp and for the training knot.  Sign up for OWL here.

Train-O-Ree 2017

Who: Cub Scout Leaders AND Cub Scouts and siblings over the age of 3
What: Adult Leader Training and Cub Scout activities. While you're attending training, your Cub Scout and his siblings over the age of 3 can participate in Cub Scout fun!
When: Sept. 30, 2017
    Cubmaster/Assistant Cubmaster and Den Leader Specific Training
    Morning Session 9 a.m.-12 p.m. OR
    Afternoon Session 1:30-4:30 p.m.
    Face to Face Youth Protection Training
    12-1:30 p.m.

Webelos Outdoor Weekend, October 6th-8th

Webelos Dens, Troops, and Crews this is your chance; Signup for WOW is now available.  Come introduce the Webelos to your units to have some fun and help them make their crossover choices next February.

“CUB experience” - October 7th, 9 am - 3 pm

What is CUBe?

An outdoor experience for all elementary aged Cub Scouts and their siblings.  All scouts must have an adult partner present to participate.  Each Cub Scout Unit in the Lone Star District is asked to host a station, where the scouts and siblings will rotate through.  Some of the activities include: Archery, BB’s, Crafts, & Games.  Siblings are not allowed to participate in the Archery and BB’s Station for liability reasons.  This is the first chance of the new scouting year for the Cub Scouts to shoot Archery, BB’s, and earn Belt Loops.

Oak Leaf Youth Training - November 3-4

Registration deadline, Monday, Oct. 30th

Come have an awesome time and get trained at our local training for youth by youth at the beginning of November at Myers Park. 

Fri & Sat, November 3rd & 4th, 6 pm Fri to 10 pm Sat at Myers Park. $30 early or $40 late (includes meals)

    Hurry, it is not too late to get into one of the remaining courses of 2017.

National Youth Leadership Training

After your youth leaders have completed Oak Leaf, the next training step is National Youth Leadership Training. NYLT is an intense, 5 1/2 day, outdoor leadership training experience for Troop, Team, Crew and Ship youth leaders. The course goal is to prepare young men and women to become superior leaders in their local units and in the future.
